Raul Calin appointed World Archery secretary general

by

World Archery has appointed Raul Calin as its new secretary general, effective 1 December 2025, after a thorough recruitment process led by President Greg Easton and conducted by executive search firm PageExecutive.

Calin has served as secretary general of the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) since 2017, having joined the organisation in 2004 as competition manager and held several director positions, including overseeing operations and Olympic Games.

An experienced sports administrator, and originally a table tennis athlete and coach in Spain, Calin relocated from the ITTF Singapore office to Lausanne (Switzerland) in 2022 to focus on institutional relations and governance.

“I am thrilled to welcome Raul Calin to this pivotal role within World Archery,” said President Easton. “His outstanding track record in international sport, serving the best interests of member associations, and ensuring constitutional integrity make him an excellent addition to our new leadership team.”

The appointment was recommended by the World Archery executive committee and ratified by the executive board earlier this month.

Calin will leave his role at the ITTF at the end of November.

At World Archery, he will work alongside Juan Carlos Holgado, who was appointed to the new position of executive director in October.

The new leadership team will be in place ahead of the first in-person executive board meeting since the congress and World Archery Championships in Gwangju (Korea), where Greg Easton was elected the federation’s 10th president.

The board meeting is scheduled for 14-15 December in Lausanne (Switzerland).
