RCA’s Formal Appeal and Comprehensive Safety Promise
The Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) has written directly to the BCCI, IPL Governing Council, and RR, urging them to keep Jaipur as the franchise’s home base for the next season.
As reported by Cricbuzz, the RCA has promised “all necessary safety measures—without exception—will be implemented well in advance of the IPL, strictly in accordance with BCCI guidelines, applicable government regulations, and best international practices.”
In their letter to the top brass of the BCCI and IPL, the RCA’s government-appointed ad hoc committee, led by DD Kumawat, wrote, “The RCA remains fully committed to working constructively with the Rajasthan Royals, the BCCI, and all stakeholders to resolve any concerns promptly and professionally, in the larger interest of the game.”
Ending the Uncertainty: A Direct Response to Royals’ Concerns
The Royals reportedly raised concerns about infrastructure at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. And now the RCA responded by saying that they were neither informed of nor associated with the third-party assessment reportedly commissioned by the franchise.
The RCA also strongly defended the condition of the stadium, saying the venue is “structurally sound and operationally safe” to host IPL matches. The association pointed out that the stadium has successfully hosted IPL matches for nearly two decades, as well as numerous domestic and international fixtures, and continues to do so without any issue.

To support this claim, the association pointed to the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26 matches currently being played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
They said in the latter, “Most recently, Vijay Hazare Trophy matches were conducted at the venue with large spectator attendance and without any safety or security incidents, further reaffirming its readiness to host high-profile events.”
Jaipur: The Undisputed Home of the Rajasthan Royals
The RCA also reminded the BCCI of Jaipur’s deep connection with the Rajasthan Royals. The city has always been the franchise’s home, and local fans have backed the team passionately over the years. So, they formally requested that the RR’s home matches for IPL 2026 be hosted in Jaipur.
The latter added, “In view of the above, we respectfully request the BCCI to allocate the home matches of the Rajasthan Royals to the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur, for the forthcoming IPL season. The RCA assures its complete cooperation and proactive engagement to ensure the smooth, secure, and successful conduct of IPL 2026 in Jaipur.”
