Recruiting Roundup: Huskies Extend A Couple Of New 2026 Offers

by

Happy Sunday Husky fans. I hope you all had a relaxing weekend. The Husky coaches hit the road this week on their bye, and checked out several of their current commits as well some 2027 prospects. Their were also a couple of new 2026 offers that went out that I wanted to share with everyone here:

3 star defensive lineman JD Hill from Mission Viejo HS, CA has had a monster senior season and finally got an offer from UW. Rated as the 113th best defensive lineman in the country, Hill has received offers from ASU, Utah, Colorado and Miami. Listed at 6’2” and around 270 pounds Hill is a disruptive force in the backfield for his team. Through 9 games he totaled 25 TFL’s and 13 sacks for his team. It sounds like the Huskies will be bringing him in for an official visit either for the Oregon game or against Purdue at home. Although he might not have the measurables that a lot of higher end recruits have (6’3”+ and over 300 pounds) he has good quickness and the ability to shed blockers which is very important for defensive lineman. The Huskies already have 2 interior defensive lineman in the 2026 class and Hill could be another player that the Huskies add to bolster their depth and talent across the defensive line. If the Huskies can land Hill I would not be surprised to see him make a run at some playing time next season.

Another new offer that went out along the defensive line was to 4 star defensive lineman Carter Gooden from Tabor Academy HS, MA. Tabor, who is a current UCLA commit, has been fielding calls and receiving offers from around the country after the Bruins stumbled out of the gate and fired their head coach. Rated as the 14th best defensive lineman in the country Gooden is a top 100 player in the country per 247sports. The Huskies have made some in-roads on the east coast on the recruiting front under coach Fisch, but it will be a tough ask to get Gooden this late in the cycle. Miami, Tennessee, and Penn State have all offered and pushed for a commitment from Gooden. Listed at 6’4” and around 260 pounds he has a good frame that he can grow and develop into once he gets to college. If the Huskies can get him on campus for a visit than they will be squarely in the mix to try and flip him. With both Gooden and Hill offered it looks like the Huskies want to add another defensive lineman to their 2026 class.

That is all for today and next week I will do a breakdown of where things are at for the 2026 class heading into the early signing period which is weeks away. As always follow me @asieverkropp.
