BOSTON, MA—The Boston Red Sox have added fourteen non-roster invitees to the team’s 2026 Spring Training roster: infielder Mikey Romero, infielder/outfielders Max Ferguson and Tyler McDonough, outfielders Allan Castro and Braiden Ward, catchers Nate Baez and Ronald Rosario, catcher/first baseman Nathan Hickey, right-handed pitchers Tayron Guerrero, Seth Martinez, Wyatt Olds, Noah Song, and Jacob Webb, and left-handed pitcher Jeremy Wu-Yelland.

Mikey Romero, INF – Romero, 22, is ranked as the Red Sox’ No. 6 prospect by MLB.com. The left-handed hitter played 111 games in 2025 between Double-A Portland (66 games) and Triple-A Worcester (45 games), batting .245 (109-for-445) with 33 doubles, four triples, 17 home runs, and 76 RBI. He made 45 starts at third base, 27 at second base, 20 at shortstop, and 17 as the designated hitter. Selected by the Red Sox in the first round (24th overall) in the 2022 First-Year Player Draft, the California native has hit .255 (251-for-986) with 69 doubles, 13 triples, and 34 home runs in 242 career minor league games. He will be attending his first Major League Spring Training camp.

Max Ferguson, INF/OF – Ferguson, 26, split 2025 between Double-A Portland (99 games) and Triple-A Worcester (19 games), batting .205 (79-for-386) with 13 doubles, one triple, nine home runs, 52 runs scored, and 34 stolen bases. The left-handed hitter made 53 starts at second base, 24 in left field, 13 in center field, eight at first base, six at shortstop, four in right field, two at third base, and two as the designated hitter. Originally selected by the San Diego Padres in the fifth round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the Florida native has hit .210 (280-for-1,332) with 53 doubles, 13 triples, 24 home runs, and 160 RBI in 388 career minor league games. He was acquired by Boston from San Diego in a four-player trade on August 2, 2022.

Tyler McDonough, INF/OF – McDonough, 26, played 79 games for Triple-A Worcester in 2025, batting .254 (68-for-268) with 12 doubles, two triples, five home runs, and 27 RBI. The switch-hitter made 34 starts at shortstop, 17 in left field, 16 at second base, and nine in right field. Selected by the Red Sox in the third round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the Ohio native has hit .246 (390-for-1,584) with 81 doubles, 18 triples, 28 home runs, and 178 RBI in 445 career minor league games. He will be attending his first Major League Spring Training camp.

Allan Castro, OF Castro, 22, is ranked as the Red Sox’ No. 20 prospect by MLB.com and No. 26 by Baseball America. The switch-hitter spent 2025 with Double-A Portland, batting .268 (91-for-340) with 20 doubles, two triples, seven home runs, and 37 RBI in 92 games while making 63 starts in center field, 14 in right field, 13 as the designated hitter, and two in left field. Signed by the Red Sox as an international free agent in July 2019, the Dominican Republic native has hit .250 (380-for-1,520) with 87 doubles, 23 triples, 35 home runs, and 180 RBI in 422 career minor league games. He batted .262 (11-for-42) with four doubles, one home run, and eight RBI in 12 games this offseason with the Toros del Este of the Dominican Winter League. He will be attending his first Major League Spring Training camp.

Braiden Ward, OF Ward, 27, split 2025 between Double-A Hartford (53 games) and Triple-A Albuquerque (44 games), batting .290 (89-for-307) with 74 runs scored, 57 stolen bases, and a .395 on-base percentage. In his first career Triple-A experience, the left-handed hitter batted .331 (44-for-133) with 45 runs scored, 35 stolen bases, a .440 on-base percentage, and a .906 OPS. He was acquired from the Colorado Rockies in a trade on November 18, in exchange for left-handed pitcher Brennan Bernardino. Originally selected by the Rockies in the 16th round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the California native has hit .275 (338-for-1,229) in 411 career minor league games. He will be attending his second Major League Spring Training camp, also attending with the Rockies in 2022.

Nate Baez, C – Baez, 24, was acquired in a trade with the Minnesota Twins on January 21, in exchange for infielder Tristan Gray. The right-handed hitter batted .278 (94-for-338) with a .794 OPS in 96 games during 2025 for High-A Cedar Rapids (45 games) and Double-A Wichita (51 games). For Wichita, he threw out 14 of 61 runners attempting to steal (23.0%) in 29 games (28 starts) as the catcher. Originally selected by the Twins in the 12th round of the 2022 First-Year Player Draft, the Arizona native has played 229 career minor league games, batting .263 (206-for-782) with a .788 OPS while making 110 starts as the catcher, 80 at first base, and 34 as the designated hitter. He will be attending his first Major League Spring Training camp.

Ronald Rosario, C Rosario, 23, hit .201 (72-for-358) with 10 doubles and 11 home runs in 98 games in 2025 for Double-A Portland. The right-handed hitter made 78 starts as the catcher and 18 as the designated hitter, throwing out 25 of 104 runners attempting to steal (24.0%). Signed by the Red Sox as an international free agent in July 2019, the Venezuela native has played 302 career minor league games, batting .237 (255-for-1,076) while throwing out 87 of 444 runners attempting to steal (19.6%). He will be attending his first Major League Spring Training camp.

Nathan Hickey, C/1B – Hickey, 26, played 128 games for Triple-A Worcester in 2025, batting .234 (105-for-448) with 23 doubles, two triples, 17 home runs, and 75 RBI. The left-handed hitter made 69 starts at first base, 53 as the designated hitter, and three as the catcher. Selected by the Red Sox in the fifth round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the Florida native has hit .240 (353-for-1,472) with 92 doubles, four triples, 65 home runs, and 267 RBI in 424 career minor league games. He will be attending his third consecutive Major League Spring Training camp.

Tayron Guerrero, RHP – Guerrero, 35, spent 2025 playing for the Chiba Lotte Marines of Nippon Professional Baseball, posting a 6.41 ERA (14 ER/19.2 IP) with 15 strikeouts in 21 relief outings. The right hander owns a 5.77 ERA (68 ER/106.0 IP) with 111 strikeouts in 113 career Major League games with the San Diego Padres (2016) and Miami Marlins (2018-19). Originally signed as an international free agent by the Padres in May 2010, the Colombia native has recorded a 4.68 ERA (221 ER/424.2 IP) with 430 strikeouts in 307 career minor league games (23 starts). He pitched in 11 games for the Gigantes del Cibao of the Dominican Winter League this offseason, posting a 0.87 ERA (1 ER/10.1 IP) with 9 strikeouts.

Seth Martinez, RHP – Martinez, 31, made six relief appearances for the Miami Marlins in 2025, posting a 5.40 ERA (4 ER/6.2 IP). The right-hander also pitched in 41 games (one start) for Triple-A Jacksonville, recording a 3.71 ERA (18 ER/43.2 IP) with 54 strikeouts. Originally selected by the Athletics in the 17th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, the Arizona native owns a 4.00 ERA (64 ER/144.0 IP) with 126 strikeouts in 117 career Major League games with the Houston Astros (2021-24) and Marlins (2025).

Wyatt Olds, RHP – Olds, 26, split the 2025 season between Double-A Portland (eight games) and Triple-A Worcester (34 games), posting a 5.05 ERA (40 ER/71.1 IP) with 77 strikeouts. Selected by the Red Sox in the seventh round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the Oklahoma native owns a 5.96 ERA (224 ER/338.1 IP) in 146 career minor league games (42 starts). The right-hander pitched in 12 games for the Criollos de Caguas of the Puerto Rican Winter League this offseason. He will be attending his first Major League Spring Training camp.

Noah Song, RHP Song, 28, pitched in 31 games (four starts) across five levels in 2025, making rehab outings for the FCL Red Sox (one start), Single-A Salem (three games, two starts), and High-A Greenville (one start) before pitching for Double-A Portland (23 games) and Triple-A Worcester (three games). The right-hander posted a 4.58 ERA (28 ER/55.0 IP) with 61 strikeouts. Selected by the Red Sox in the fourth round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft, the California native owns a 4.21 ERA (49 ER/104.2 IP) with 111 strikeouts in 53 career minor league games (17 starts) with the Philadelphia Phillies and Red Sox organizations. He was selected by the Phillies in the Major League portion of the 2022 Rule 5 Draft, then returned to the Red Sox on August 4, 2023. He will be attending his second Major League Spring Training camp and first since 2023 with the Phillies.

Jacob Webb, RHP Webb, 26, pitched in 25 games in 2025 between High-A Greenville (six games), Double-A Portland (10 games), and Triple-A Worcester (nine games). The right-hander posted a 3.57 ERA (16 ER/40.1 IP) with 46 strikeouts. Selected by the Red Sox in the 14th round of the 2021 First-Year Player Draft, the Ohio native has recorded a 4.15 ERA (116 ER/251.2 IP) in 159 career minor league games (eight starts). He will be attending his second consecutive Major League Spring Training camp.

Jeremy Wu-Yelland, LHP Wu-Yelland, 26, split 2025 between High-A Greenville (seven games) and Double-A Portland (18 games), posting a 3.15 ERA (16 ER/45.2 IP) with 71 strikeouts. The left-hander went 2-0 with a 3.18 ERA (12 ER/34.0 IP) and 51 strikeouts in his first career Double-A experience. Selected by the Red Sox in the fourth round of the 2020 First-Year Player Draft, the Washington native owns a 4.19 ERA (74 ER/159.0) with 205 strikeouts in 74 career minor league games (25 starts). He will be attending his first Major League Spring Training camp.
