Houston Astros star Jose Altuve underwent a minor procedure on his right foot on Monday and is expected to be ready by spring training, according to a report by MLB.com.
Altuve, who played both second base and left field last season, had fluid drained from an injury between two toes, the report said. He had been bothered by the injury during the final two weeks of the season.
The nine-time All-Star, set to play his 16th season with the Astros, hit .265 with 26 home runs and 77 RBIs last season.
