EAST LANSING – Nick Marsh is exploring his options to leave Michigan State football. The sophomore wide receiver reportedly will enter the transfer portal after two seasons as a Spartan, according to On3.com on Monday, Dec. 1.
Marsh led MSU with 59 catches for 662 yards with six touchdowns this season. The 6-foot-3, 203-pound River Rouge product set a true freshman program record in 2024 with 41 catches and 649 yards, including three touchdown catches.

After committing to Mel Tucker, Marsh stuck with his commitment with the coaching change to Jonathan Smith. Smith was fired Sunday after two seasons.
MSU is expected to hire former Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald to replace Smith.

Marsh had seven catches for 85 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 38-28 win over Maryland. He had just six grabs for 23 yards in the two previous games, and Marsh was a focal point all season for opposing defenses to shut down.
Players cannot enter the transfer portal until five days after a new MSU coach is named, and they have 15 days from that point to decide whether to stay or leave for a different school.

Starting running back Makhi Frazier on Sunday announced he will enter the portal after Smith was fired.
