The Nittany Lions will officially find out tomorrow where they are headed for bowl season, but according to a report from On3’s Brett McMurphy, Penn State will take on an ACC opponent in the Pinstripe Bowl.
The Pinstripe Bowl is set for Saturday, December 27 at 12 p.m. EST and airing on ABC. The ACC opponent is still TBD, but if you believe Twitter rumors, it won’t be Pitt. Instead, it’ll be Clemson.
Clemson came into the season with high expectations just like Penn State. And just like Penn State, they failed in spectacular fashion, starting the season 3-5 before winning their last 4 games against Florida State, Louisville, Furman, and South Carolina to get to 7-5 on the year.

If it is indeed the Pinstripe Bowl for the Nittany Lions, it’ll be their second trip to the bowl, with the last one coming in James Franklin’s inaugural season with the program in 2014. I’m sure you remember, but Penn State went to overtime with Boston College and won the game on a Sam Ficken extra point.
