Aalyah Mysterio definitely got fans talking about potentially pursuing pro wrestling after she was recently spotted training with Natalya at the Dungeon. While speculation continues, Rey Mysterio has now addressed her daughter’s future in wrestling.
While speaking to Brown Bag Mornings, Rey Mysterio explained that Aalyah recently graduated from UCSD with a degree in human biology and described her as not only smart and beautiful but also someone with a kind and solid heart.
According to Rey, Aalyah has been asking for over a year when he would take her to the ring. Last week, while visiting the WWE Performance Center in Orlando to work on getting cleared after an injury, he brought her along. Aalyah stepped into the ring for the first time and immediately loved the experience.
“I’m gonna clear things up here. So, my daughter, she just graduated from UCSD in June. Human biology. She’s a smart girl, beautiful girl, even more beautiful from her heart because she has a heart that’s solid, solid. And she’s been asking me for the past year and a half, ‘Dad, when are you taking me to the ring? When are you taking me to the ring?’ So, I went to Orlando last week to the Performance Center because I need to go back in and try to get cleared after my injury. I took her with me. She stepped in there and she loved it.”
Rey said her natural instincts in the ring surprised him, noting that even in her very first moments of training, she seemed to have real talent. He added with excitement that she looked ready to hold her own and even predicted she could one day mess up her brother Dominik Mysterio in the ring.
“But the crazy thing is she didn’t only love it—like the first thing she did for being in the ring for the first time, I was like, ‘She’s got it.’ Oh my God [goosebumps gesture]. And she’s going to f*** up Dom. F*** him up. Let’s go.”
Aalyah Mysterio’s first time in the ring has people excited. Even though she hasn’t said she will join WWE yet, her quick learning and Rey Mysterio’s massive praise make it seem like she might have a future in WWE soon enough. So we’ll have to see what Aalyah will do in the end.
