During an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, the Nature Boy revealed that he reached out to Hogan three times in the last month before the WWE Hall of Famer passed away. Flair claims he was concerned that Hogan was getting involved in a questionable business arrangement with someone Flair already knew—and didn’t trust.
According to Flair, Hogan ignored his warnings and eventually got slapped with a $10 million lawsuit tied to the deal. Flair made it clear that while Hogan was usually savvy and well-defended legally, this time someone took advantage of his trust.
“Well, I called him—I’m not gonna mention any names—but I called him three times and talked to him in the last month because I thought he was getting involved in a situation that wasn’t right for him business-wise, since I knew who he was getting in business with.”
“You know, for one, he didn’t heed my warning, and then he got hit with that $10 million lawsuit—and that’s a lot. The thing about Hulk is that he’s always well represented and smarter than anyone in the business, and that’s not to be denied. But this guy that jerked him around this time—sometimes you want to believe so much and you try so hard—he’s such a giving guy.”
Flair didn’t go into detail about who the person was or the nature of the lawsuit, but the implication was clear—he believes Hogan’s kindness and willingness to trust people might’ve led him into a bad situation.
