Rick Macci predicts how many Grand Slam titles Carlos Alcaraz will win

by

Carlos Alcaraz will do everything he can to overtake his top rival Jannik Sinner and return to the top of the ATP rankings by the end of this season, which is why he is also giving his best at the Cincinnati Masters 1000 which precedes the US Open (scheduled in New York from August 24 to September 7).

The world number 2 reached the semifinals in Ohio for the second time in his career (he had already done it in 2023), struggling a lot to defeat Russian ace Andrey Rublev in the quarterfinals despite a fairly easy first set.

Carlitos' level dropped in the second part of the match and only the Russian's mistakes in the third set allowed him to get this precious victory. The 22-year-old Spaniard will return to action against Alexander Zverev for a place in the final, aiming to avenge the defeat suffered against the German star at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin last November.

Sascha is a very dangerous player on such a fast surface, but he said he didn't feel very well after beating Ben Shelton in the quarterfinals. The world number 3 seemed a bit tired in the second set and will certainly not want to risk a week before the start of the last Slam of the season.

Alcaraz is a prodigious talent

Through his official X profile, legendary coach Rick Macci wanted to praise Carlos once again and also made a prediction about him:

“Alcaraz has the most versatile game we have seen in tennis history. How he uses it is still a mystery. With so many options on his Spanish Buffet the best tasting choice will be delivered depending on the Day. His overall package is an artist with a stick and double figure Slams for Carlos is my pick.”

The hope of fans is to see a new final between Alcaraz and Sinner, in what would be a sort of prelude to the showdown that could take place in New York at the end of the summer.
