The high school football season around the country is wrapping up and with that comes honors for coaches and players from the 2025 season. One state that’s hungry for anytime teams hit the gridiron is that of Alabama high school football.

We start in the Yellowhammer State of Alabama as Rivals was on hand for the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) state championships and got to see some of the state’s top talents go at it. Who were the best players for the 2025 season, though?

Rivals give you the Alabama high school football honorees for the 2025 season.

We heard you loud and clear, Trent Seaborn. The 2027 Alabama commit quarterback voiced his support for the future Crimson Tide running back for player of the year honors and we’re going to agree with him, well, because the tailback certainly had a season to remember. That’s because Crowell has had himself what was an incredible season for the Aggies as they repeated as Alabama Class 4A state champions. Crowell this past season for the 2-time Alabama Class 4A state champions ended up rushing for 2,632 yards (12.6 yards per carry) on just 209 carries and has scored 35 times. The running back’s best performance might’ve arguably been his last one against Anniston in a 52-0 victory as Crowell rushed for 308 yards on 25 touches and found the endzone five times at Protective Stadium last Friday.

So since Crowell takes home the Player of the Year award, the very next player we mention is the one that vouched for the Aggies’ back as Seaborn is Alabama’s Offensive Player of the Year for 2025. We know there were other quarterbacks that had better stats, but Seaborn did this at the highest level you can do it at in the state of Alabama. The Crimson Tide commitment was stellar all the way through the season as he helped lift this Warriors’ squad to the state’s Class 7A state championship. Seaborn finished this past season completing an impressive 71 percent (264 of 369) of his passes for 3,692 yards and 35 touchdowns. The junior quarterback also added nearly 100 yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Seaborn is easily an early candidate to win the state’s Player of the Year award for 2026 and hey, maybe Crowell will throw a public plea for the quarterback come next Alabama high school football season.

Hard to ignore what Lyles was doing all throughout the 2025 season for one of Alabama’s best high school football teams on the defensive side of the ball. Lyles, a Jacksonville State commitment, was the star on a Warriors’ defensive unit that forced 22 turnovers this past fall, coming just a step short of reaching the Class 7A state championship. The three-star EDGE rusher finished this past season tallying a team-high 84 tackles, 32 going for a loss, 20 sacks, five fumbles forces and two pass breakups. When looking at the totality of any other player in the state when it comes to the stat lines combined with talent and where his team finished the season, Lyles is the total package as he proved himself some of the state’s best competition on the biggest stages.

Coach of the Year: Jeremy Vines, Bullock County

When you’re leading a high school football team that hasn’t won a playoff game in nearly 12 decades of play and then finally win one, that has to speak for something. Vines didn’t just win one playoff game, but won two at a program that hadn’t felt victory in the postseason in 118 years. The Bullock County head coach guided the Hornets to playoff victories over Oak Grove and Mobile Christian School before falling in the third round of the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Class 4A playoffs. With Vines leading the program to its best record in program history at 9-4, there was plenty of worthy candidates, but this kind of coaching job by Vines brings historical context to it along with how far Bullock County went in the Alabama high school football playoffs.
