India will tour Australia for a three-match ODI series and a five-match T20I series in October-November 2025. Perth Stadium will host the ODI series opener on October 19, and the next two matches are set to be played on October 23 and 25 in Adelaide and Sydney. After that, the T20I matches are set to be played on October 29, 31, November 2, 6, and 8 across five different venues.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have retired from Test and T20I cricket, and till the time they are available in international cricket, they will make only limited appearances because very few ODIs are played these days.

Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli were last seen in action in competitive cricket in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 for the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).

Before that, they played for the India National Cricket Team in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The duo showcased tremendous performances in the competition and helped India beat New Zealand in the final to win the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

It is absolutely wrong to say that this is their last ODI series – Rajeev Shukla

There were some reports that Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be announcing their retirement from ODI cricket as well at the end of the series against the Aussies.

These talks made them the center of attention ahead of the tour, but so far, no hints have been given by the duo regarding their farewell series. Also, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) vice-president, Rajeev Shukla, has now confirmed that Rohit and Kohli won’t be retiring after the Australia series.

“It is going to benefit us a lot. They are great batsmen. We will succeed in defeating Australia with them in the team. It is absolutely wrong to say that this is their last ODI series. It depends on the players as to when they have to retire,” he told ANI in Delhi.
