Indian veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have been asked to play across all three formats of the game for four more years, claims Dubai Capitals’ legendary all-rounder Gulbadin Naib. Claims have also been made on the return of the cricketers to other formats for India.
Ever since the two Indian veterans were doubted to retain their spot in the Indian XI for the 2027 World Cup and were not in the plans of the selectors and the coach, several former cricketers and even current cricketers have showered their faith on them.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma also batted with perfection and have kept their name with staggering innings across the two series they have played in since their return. Now, the Afghan all-rounder has made a similar claim backing the Indian greats.

As a defending champion, you have to play very clearly,” Naib claimed on expectations in the ILT20
The ongoing edition of the ILT20 marks the Dubai Capitals as the defending champions of the competition. Nabi acknowledged that there is always immense pressure to be the champions of any tournament and then come back into the league as the defending champions.
It turns very crucial for the team to perform well and also to live upto the high expectations of the fans as well as the players. Defending champions did not have the finest of starts to the season, though, as they have already lost two matches in the tournament.
“To be a defending champion and to return to the tournament as a champion. There are many things. The media also focuses more on you and your team. So, everyone’s eyes are on us. Just like we did last season. So, obviously, there is pressure. As a defending champion, you have to play very clearly,” Naib added.
