Roman Anthony doesn’t seem like the type to shy away from the spotlight.
The 21-year-old looked right at home when the Red Sox mic’d him up at spring camp, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look as he prepares for his first full season in the big leagues.
Whether he’s working through drills or chatting with teammates, Anthony moves through camp with the self-assurance of an established star, even with only 71 games of MLB experience under his belt.
That’s not much of a surprise after Anthony hit .292 with eight homers and an .859 OPS over 303 plate appearances for Boston last season, earning a third-place finish in the AL Rookie of the Year Award voting.
Coming off that impressive showing, the attention is only going to grow this season, but the youngster appears well-equipped to handle it.
