Roman Reigns & Cody Rhodes’ Roles Confirmed For Upcoming Street Fighter Film

by

The Street Fighter movie is gaining momentum.

Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes are currently away from WWE programming as they film roles in the upcoming Street Fighter movie. Paramount Pictures and Legendary have confirmed the film will release on October 16, 2026, and that production is now underway in Australia.

In a new press released, it was confirmed that Reigns is playing Akuma, a well-known fighter from the Street Fighter series. Cody Rhodes will appear as Guile, another familiar face from the video game franchise.

The film is set in 1993 and follows Ryu, played by Andrew Koji, and Ken, played by Noah Centineo, as they are recruited by Chun-Li, Callina Liang, for the World Warrior Tournament. Behind the tournament is a larger plot involving several fighters, including characters played by Reigns and Rhodes.

The cast also includes Jason Momoa as Blanka, 50 Cent as Balrog, and David Dastmalchian as M. Bison, among others. Kitao Sakurai is directing the project. This film will also be the first under a new distribution deal between Legendary and Paramount, and it will be released in IMAX.

Filming began on August 18, 2025. They had an open production set, so stars can come and go as they are needed. Only time will tell how much longer Cody and Roman are needed for this film, but WWE could certainly use their services as soon as possible.
