Ronda Rousey left WWE after her match against Shayna Baszler at SummerSlam back in 2023. Since then, fans have been wondering if she’ll ever return to WWE and now Rousey has set the record straight on coming back.
While speaking to Yahoo Sports, Ronda Rousey was asked about the idea of returning to WWE. She explained that when she left, the company told her the door would always be open if she wanted to come back. However, she admitted she doesn’t see herself being on the road with WWE again.
Rousey noted she now has two daughters and hopes to have more children in the future. She said that with her focus on family, there simply isn’t space in her life to balance WWE’s demanding travel schedule with raising her kids.
“I didn’t hear from anybody. It was more of the way we left it was, they were like, ‘There’s always an open door; if you ever want to come back, let us know.’
I just don’t think I could ever be on the road with the company again. I have two girls now, and hopefully we can have some more soon, I’d love that. And there’s just no room in my life to be able to maintain that lifestyle and a family at the same time.”
This comes after Ronda Rousey also stated that she believes WWE will erase her contributions towards women’s wrestling in general.
WWE fans may have been hoping to see another run from the “Baddest Woman on the Planet,” but Ronda Rousey’s words show that her focus is on family, not wrestling. Even though WWE has left the door open for her return, it doesn’t look like she’ll be stepping back into the ring anytime soon.
Do you think Ronda Rousey should eventually return to WWE for one last run, or has she closed that chapter of her career for good? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
