Ronda Rousey’s final win at UFC 190, 10 years ago

Somehow, it’s already been 10 years since Ronda Rousey last won a fight in the UFC.

To put that in perspective, entire MMA careers of some fighters, including some at championship level, have started and ended since then. But none of them have been during the Rousey Era in MMA.

That era was brief, but littered with groundbreaking highlights. At UFC 190, Rousey entered as the five-time defending women’s bantamweight champion – and went into her opponent’s territory in Brazil.

There was bad blood with Rousey and Bethe Correira, who said Rousey should kill herself after she loses – perhaps not knowing Rousey lost her father to suicide. Rousey wasted little time taking things out on Correira and put her away in just 34 seconds with a swarming TKO.

Rousey’s win over Correira was her last one in MMA. Later that year, she lost her title to Holly Holm in a shocking upset. When she set her sights on the belt again once Amanda Nunes had it in 2016, she quickly was taken out with a TKO and never returned to the promotion after that.
