The SP Lohia Foundation is hosting an RSVP-only panel discussion and book signing in connection with Speed Chess Championship on Friday, February 6 at 19:30 GMT, taking place at 180 Strand in the Soho Works. The conversation between IM Danny Rensch and Aarti Lohia of the Lohia Foundation, moderated by Sverre Krogh Sundbo, will revolve around Chess & Culture, specifically the different ways it has shaped people’s lives and perspectives.
Danny’s memoir, Dark Squares, will be a topic of conversation, as well as a documentary that Aarti has funded (details forthcoming). Danny will be signing books after the event! Aarti and her son IM Sohum Lohia, who is actively competing for his grandmaster title, were featured in the Financial Times in 2024.
