The pro wrestling world the political arena rarely mesh, because it’s not great for business. That won’t stop some people from speaking out. Although Mick Foley may have cut ties with WWE due to their support of Donald Trump, another WWE Hall of Famer has a different take on things.
President and WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday directing federal agencies to move marijuana toward a less restrictive classification, signaling a notable shift in federal drug policy and bringing national standards closer to those already adopted by many states.
WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam publicly praised the decision. He jumped on X, where the Whole F’n Show gave Donald some props.
“Thank you @realDonaldTrump for admitting the medical effects of cannabis for millions of people, for the first time at your level in my entire life. Nice birthday present.”
RVD’s perspective carries particular weight given his history with the subject. Many fans will never forget his 2006 marijuana arrest that stripped him of the WWE and ECW Titles.
Today, marijuana is no longer a banned substance under WWE’s Wellness Policy, and wrestlers are not fined for cannabis related test results. Trump’s executive order is another step for the end of marijuana’s prohibition. RVD is obviously all about that.
What’s your take on Donald Trump’s latest executive order? Do you think that marijuana should be totally legalized? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
