That is when Faheem stepped up. He played with fearless intent and clear thinking. Faheem smashed an unbeaten 29 runs off just 11 balls. The turning point came in the 19th over when he got a big slice of luck. Max O’Dowd dropped him in the deep, and that mistake proved costly.
Pakistan crossed the line with three wickets in hand and three balls remaining, sealing a thrilling three-wicket victory in Colombo. Earlier in the match, the Netherlands had shown intent with the bat. They raced to 50 for 2 in the powerplay after being sent in to bat first.
