Sammy Guevara Wins ROH Tag Gold With RUSH Before Turning on Von Erichs

by

Sammy Guevara just made a major move in Ring of Honor—aligning himself with LFI and walking out of Death Before Dishonor as one-half of the new ROH World Tag Team Champions.

Guevara was originally holding the tag titles alongside Dustin Rhodes, but after Rhodes was forced to step away for double knee replacement surgery, the belts were vacated. That set the stage for Guevara to choose a mystery partner to help him reclaim the gold at the pay-per-view.

When match time came, RUSH was revealed as Guevara’s surprise tag partner. The two faced The Outrunners (Turbo Floyd & Truth Magnum) and scored the win to capture the vacant ROH World Tag Team Titles. After the match, Dralístico joined RUSH and Guevara in the ring, making it clear that Guevara had officially aligned with La Facción Ingobernable.

But the night didn’t end there. Earlier in the show, the Von Erichs (Marshall & Ross) had teamed with Guevara to challenge for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Titles—titles they previously held with Dustin Rhodes. With Rhodes out, those titles were also vacated, and Shane Taylor Promotions (Shane Taylor, Carlie Bravo & Shawn Dean) ended up taking the win.

Later in the night, the Von Erichs confronted Guevara and RUSH in the ring. At first, Guevara acted like everything was fine… until he turned on them. A full-on brawl broke out, signaling a clear betrayal and cementing his place with LFI.

Guevara’s ROH future just got a whole lot more aggressive—and more unpredictable.
