San Juan Secures Los Pumas test match in July 2026

by

San Juan, Argentina has secured a home test match in July. Los Pumas will face Wales at the Estadio San Juan el Bicentenario on Saturday, July 11. It will be the second of three home matches for the Americas #1 during the July International Window.

The match will be Wales’ first visit to Argentina since 2018. Wales’ tour that year marked changes for Los Pumas as Daniel Hourcade was subsequently replaced by Mario Ledesma as Head Coach.

The test match will be one of three matches in Argentina for the inaugural Nations Championship. In addition to playing host to the Welsh Dragons, Argentina will also receive matches against Scotland and England in July.

The fixtures are a repeat of the 2025 November Internationals wherein Los Pumas defeated Wales in Cardiff and Scotland in Edinburgh before losing narrowly to England in London. Unlike those tour matches, the July 2026 games will be for the Nations Championship.

The second half of the inaugural Nations Championship will see Argentina facing Ireland, Italy and France in Europe in November followed by a remaining fixture based on positions in the Nations Championship.

Argentina’s additional home matches will be on July 04 and July 18. The venues are yet to be confirmed but ARN understands that they will be played in Santiago del Estero and Córdoba.
