On January 23 (Friday), Sarfaraz Khan completed his double century during the Mumbai vs Hyderabad Ranji Trophy 2025-26 match. It was his fourth double century in the Ranji Trophy tournament. For Mumbai, in all recent domestic tournaments, the right-handed batter got a notable amount of runs.

Sarafarz Khan has been scoring runs for Mumbai at a consistent pace

He smashed a hundred in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, a century in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in December 2025, and now a double century in the Ranji Trophy 2025-26. Sarfaraz Khan has been ruling all the formats in Indian domestic cricket.

The crucial Ranji Trophy 2025-26 match between Mumbai and Hyderabad is underway at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, where both of the teams are putting in all their efforts to claim a win. As of now, riding high on Khan’s double century, Mumbai is in the front seat.

Khan departed after posting 227 runs in 219 balls. His milestone innings was laced with 19 boundaries and 9 over-boundaries. Chinntla Rakshan Readdi dismantled the stumps for Hyderabad to get rid of the in-form batter. It is worth noting that Khan played the 227-run knock with a strike rate of 103.65.

Mohammed Siraj also did very little against Sarafarz Khan

During the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he also batted with the same intent. Now, in the multi-day format, the batter is showing no signs of slowing down his gears. Ahead of the IPL 2026, Sarfaraz Khan, who was mostly known for his technical batting skills, suddenly transformed his batting style according to the modern-day cricket demand.

A star bowler like Mohammed Siraj also looked a little ineffective against Khan in this match. According to the stats by bcci.tv, Sarfaraz scored the maximum amount of runs against K. Rohit Rayudu, against whom the middle-order batter got 63(42).
