Sean Strickland ‘forced’ to teach women’s MMA as part of suspension

by

Sean Strickland has been helping train some female fighters during his current suspension and the former UFC middleweight champion doesn’t seem too happy about it.

As one of the more game fighters in the sport today, it’s probably tough for Strickland to imagine a life without competition. Unfortunately, he’ll spend the next six months away from the game after getting suspended for attacking a cocky fighter who beat one of his teammates. Seems like a fair punishment for the crime, but that still doesn’t make things easier for the former UFC champ.

Still, Strickland is trying to get by with his usual training and out-of-cage antics. He’s also taking on some additional responsibility like helping coach UFC women’s flyweight, Veronica Hardy, who is training at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas ahead of her fight at UFC 320 on Oct. 4. in “Sin City.”

On Friday, Hardy took to social media to post a photo of herself in training alongside some other female fighters and Strickland. The UFC middleweight contender had a look of disdain on his face as he stood there in his American eagle singlet. Hardy even joked on her post that part of Strickland’s suspension included coaching women’s MMA.

“Part of @stricklandmma suspension reduction deal is to coach Women’s MMA. He’s clocking in the hours. 👌
I have suggested to the Commission that he has to corner Female MMA as well. Waiting to hear back…“

Strickland, who is 1-2 in his last three fights having lost both times to Dricus du Plessis, is hoping to end his suspension right on schedule and fight on UFC’s end-of-year card in December. It seems like a no-brainer for both parties, especially for Strickland who looks like he wants to be doing anything else besides training with girls.
