SEC Weekly Honors: Rex Maurer, Campbell Stoll Lead Awards

The SEC announced its weekly swimming and diving honors.

SEC Men’s Swimmer of the Week: Rex Maurer, Texas

Texas’ Rex Maurer, a junior from Pasadena, Calif., earned four podium finishes in the win over No. 6 Tennessee. Maurer recorded the fastest times in the nation this season with his victories in the 500 free (4:10.75) and the 400 IM (3:41.19). He also claimed first place in the 1000 free with the second-best time nationally of 8:42.30 and second place in the 200 free with the fourth-best time in the nation of 1:32.53.

SEC Men’s Diver of the Week: Nick Harris, Texas

Texas’ Nick Harris, a senior from Chester Springs, Pa. , captured first place on the 3-meter springboard in the win over No. 6 Tennessee. Harris recorded a conference-high score of 417.60 to take the top spot in the event. He was also runner-up on the 1-meter with his final score of 380.03.

SEC Men’s Freshman of the Week: Campbell McKean, Texas

Texas’ Campbell McKean, a freshman from Bend, Ore., claimed four second-place finishes in the win over No. 6 Tennessee. McKean recorded a trio of NCAA cut times to receive the silver in the breaststroke (51.63), the 200 breaststroke (1:53.38) and the 200 IM (1:43.47). He also took second place in the 200 back (1:53.49) and swam the second leg of two second-place relays: the 200 medley relay (1:24.47/22.26) and the 400 medley relay (3:06.71/51.04).

SEC Women’s Swimmer of the Week: Campbell Stoll, Texas

Texas’ Campbell Stoll, a junior from Hartland, Wis., secured four podium finishes with NCAA cut times in all of her individual events in the win over No. 4 Tennessee. Stoll posted the fastest time in the nation to win the 200 fly at 1:52.25 and the third-best time in the nation to win the 100 fly at 51.35. She also placed first in the 400 IM (4:04.49) and second in the 200 IM (1:56.44). Stoll was a part of two first-place relay squads as she swam the third leg of both the 200 medley relay (1:35.40/23.07) and the 400 medley relay (3:28.97/50.73).

SEC Women’s Diver of the Week: Bayleigh Cranford, Texas

Texas’ Bayleigh Cranford, a junior from Lexington, N.C., swept the springboard events in the victory over No. 4 Tennessee. Cranford posted a season-high score of 356.48 to win the 3-meter and a final score of 301.50 to take first place in the 1-meter.

SEC Women’s Freshman of the Week: Nikolett Padar, Texas

Texas’ Nikolett Padar, a freshman from Szeged, Hungary, helped the Longhorns secure the home-opening win over No. 4 Tennessee. Padar recorded three NCAA cut times during the meet as she tied for second place in the 200 free with a time of 1:43.48 and placed fourth in the 100 free (48.50) and the 500 free (4:38.89). She also took fifth place in the 400 IM (4:16.45) and swam the third leg of the third-place 200 free relay (1:29.81/22.38).
