Another night of SEC women’s basketball in the books and Thursday was a big one. LSU won without drama, taking care of Texas A&M, but elsewhere, a couple of ranked vs. ranked games provided plenty of entertainment.
No. 16 Oklahoma upset No. 2 South Carolina in overtime. The fifth period belonged to the Sooners with Jennie Baranczyk’s squad outscoring Dawn Staley’s group 19-7 in overtime to win 94-82. Aaliyah Chavez led the Sooners with 26 points, sinking five three-pointers.

That wasn’t the only ranked vs. ranked showdown. No. 17 Tennessee faced No. 11 Kentucky and provided another upset. The Vols came away with a two-point victory to remain unbeaten in SEC play. Tennessee built a 10-point lead before Kentucky made a run in the final quarter. Kentucky had a chance to tie it, but the Tennessee defense held in the final seconds.
With another slate of games on tap Sunday, here’s a look at the standings.
