Iowa State football head coach Matt Campbell recently finalized and signed a contract extension that bumps his total compensation to $5 million per year and keeps him in Ames through 2032.

As for the rest of his staff and notable figures within the program, here are their salaries for 2025. The most recent contracts for assistant coaches and administrative figures were obtained through an open-records request.

  • Jon Heacock, defensive coordinator: $1,200,000

  • Taylor Mouser, offensive coordinator and tight ends coach: $750,000

  • Deon Broomfield, safeties coach and pass game coordinator: $550,000

  • Reid Kagy, director of football strength and conditioning: $450,000

  • Ryan Clanton, offensive line coach and run game coordinator: $425,000

  • Noah Pauley, wide receivers coach and pass game coordinator: $425,000

  • Eli Rasheed, defensive line coach: $410,000

  • Hank Poteat, cornerbacks coach: $325,000

  • Jake Waters, quarterbacks coach: $325,000

  • Colby Kratch, linebackers coach: $315,000

  • Jake Landry, running backs coach: $275,000

  • Derek Hoodjer, assistant athletics director for player personnel and general manager: $265,000

  • Greg Brabenec, assistant athletics director for football and chief of staff: $225,000

  • Robert Grande, executive special teams quality control analyst: $120,000
