See where Iowa State women’s basketball is ranked in the latest Associated Press poll

AMES — The first week of the season for the Iowa State women’s basketball team couldn’t have gone much better with the Cyclones rolling to easy wins over St. Thomas, Southern and most recently Sacred Heart.

Their strong start has been recognized with the Cyclones checking in at No. 16 in the latest Associated Press poll released Nov. 10. Iowa State had previously been ranked No. 14 in the same poll.

The Cyclones were picked to finish second in the Big 12 Conference and entered the year ranked in the AP and USA TODAY Sports Network Coaches polls. They enjoyed a spectacular start to the season.

Iowa State cruised through its first three games by beating up on its first three non-conference foes. The Cyclones won the three games by a combined 141 points.

Post player Audi Crooks averaged 23.3 points per game during Iowa State’s first three victories.
