LAS VEGAS – Seokhyeon Ko met the media Saturday after his win over Phil Rowe at UFC Fight Night 263.

Ko (13-2 MMA, 2-0 UFC) had a dominant scorecard sweep of Rowe (11-6 MMA, 4-4 UFC) on the prelims at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. Afterward, he said the fight went just the way it was drawn up by him and his team.

“I’m really glad I got the win, and glad everything went according to plan,” Ko said at his post-fight news conference. “I knew in the striking, I was at a disadvantage – length wise. But I knew I had a speed advantage in the striking. We also knew every time he came forward, we were going to take him down. His style on the ground isn’t to try to get up. He stays there and uses his jiu-jitsu. We planned for all of that.”

Former UFC two-division champion Daniel Cormier, now a key broadcast analyst, praised Ko’s wrestling in the fight. But Ko said he’s not resting on his laurels.

“I’m honored to be complimented by a legend, but at the same time, I’m not 100 percent happy with my performance,” Ko told MMA Junkie. “I’m going to use that to grow and become a complete MMA fighter and continue improving.
