Serena Williams' ex-coach Patrick Mouratoglou thinks Coco Gauff is capable of winning multiple Grand Slams per year, and that's he would like to see from the world No. 3 in 2026.
The American, who will turn 22 in March, is already a two-time Major champion, having won the 2023 US Open and the 2025 French Open.
Overall, Gauff owns a 2-1 record in her Grand Slam finals played – she was bounced by Iga Swiatek in her first Slam final at the 2022 French Open when she was just 18.
Mouratoglou, who worked with Williams for a decade, guided the American tennis icon to 10 Majors during their tenure.
“What I would love to see in 2026 is Coco Gauff winning another Grand Slam. She’s already won two; she’s extremely young still, and I feel she can start to do more. She can start to win two, three per year. That’s always been a goal for her, to really win a lot of Grand Slams," Mouratoglou said on Instagram.
Mouratoglou: If Gauff makes those improvements, she can win several Majors
After revealing his Gauff wish, Mouratoglou opined that the 21-year-old has still areas where she could improve – he specifically mentioned that the American's "strenghts need to be better." Also, the French coach noted that the competition was tight on the WTA Tour and that there wasn't much separating the current top-5.
“She (Coco) has a spot, she has the level. There are a few things that need to be improved in her game. If she makes those improvements, she can win one or several Grand Slams next year. And this is what I want to see for 2026," Williams' ex-coach added.
