Seth Rollins has finally given fans a timeline for his return to WWE—and it looks like he’s aiming to be back in action right before WrestleMania.
In a new interview on Mohr Stories, the former world champion opened up about the injury that’s kept him off WWE television since Crown Jewel. Rollins tore his rotator cuff during a match against Cody Rhodes in Perth, Australia, and now he’s on the slow climb back to the ring.
“I had the rotator cuff surgery eight weeks ago, almost nine from when we’re talking right now. So I got another three months.”
That puts his estimated return around mid-to-late March, just weeks before WrestleMania weekend—if all goes well. The injury happened during an ambitious move gone wrong:
“I did a move where, I guess you would call it a coast-to-coast headbutt. I had Cody Rhodes hanging upside down in one corner, and I jumped from the other corner—20 feet—soaring through the air like a nut job. Way too old for this.”
Rollins tried to protect Cody on the landing, but ended up jamming his elbow into his shoulder socket.
“All my weight was on this elbow, and so I just pushed it up into my shoulder socket—and I felt it move. I was like, ‘That’s not good.’”
Despite the pain, he finished the match, won the Crown Jewel Championship, and didn’t even realize how bad it was until he went under the knife.
“It wasn’t that bad until after I got the surgery. I had it in a sling, took a couple pain pills—it wasn’t a big deal, to be honest.”
While Rollins didn’t guarantee a WrestleMania appearance, the timing suggests he’s pushing to get cleared in time. But that decision will ultimately fall on WWE’s medical team.
After nearly a decade of nonstop action, Seth Rollins was finally forced to hit pause—but now he’s locked in on getting back in time for WWE’s biggest stage.
Will Seth Rollins be cleared just in time to shake up WrestleMania season? Or should he take the full recovery time regardless of the pressure? Drop your predictions and let us know what you think.
