In a shocking new revelation, the CWAB has claimed that Mustafizur Rahman, the Bangladesh veteran pacer, does not want to escalate things with the BCCI or the Kolkata Knight Riders despite the backing from the World Cricketers’ Association.
Mustafizur Rahman’s snub from the IPL 2026 participation, following his inclusion in the KKR camp after the IPL mini-auction of 2026, had led to wide-scale repercussions, and the consequences were not seen kindly by the BCB, who intended to avenge their insult.
This move came at the back of the building, tensions around the killing of Hindus in the country. They kept their stance despite requests from the ICC to reverse this decision. However, BCB has continued its fight against the BCCI.

Mustafizur Rahman is not looking to escalate things with KKR
While the BCB’s fight against the board has continued, there was no word from Mustafizur Rahman himself regarding the matter. The star fast bowler has a completely different stance, and it is totally opposite to what the BCB has been projecting.
In a press conference, the President of the Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB), Mohammad Mithun, revealed that Mustafizur did not want to escalate things after the BCCI asked KKR to release him from the franchise ahead of the 2026 season.
“Mustafizur Rahman didn’t want to stretch his issue. He didn’t want us to take this up with the Board. Player’s duty is to raise grievances with Players’ Welfare Association but he didn’t want to stretch this issue,” Mithun said in the press conference.

Bangladesh Cricketers boycott BPL amid the demand for BCB Director’s resignation
Currently, the Bangladesh cricket team is undergoing a major fiasco, as the players have stated that they would boycott all forms of cricket and would not play the next BPL game unless M. Nazmul Islam resigns from his post as BCB director.
The BCB, in return, has made it clear that it has started the process to remove the BCB Director from his post; however, the players are not just convinced by a word of confidence from the BCB.
Hence, this is a clear statement that they have demanded that the BCB hand them a written guarantee that the BCB will compensate the players. However, the BCB is yet to respond to our demands.
Will Bangladesh travel to India for the ICC T20 World Cup?
Amid all these problems, the ICC has clearly stated that the matches would not be shifted out of India, and they would have to travel to their neighbouring nation for the ICC T20 World Cup group-stage participation.
However, the BCB is yet to reveal whether they have decided to give up on their strange stand and travel to India for the group-stage matches, which are scheduled to be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata and the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
