Indian skipper Shubman Gill looks determined to seal the second match by an innings as well. Tagenarine Chanderpaul top-edged a bumper from Mohammed Siraj, and Shubman Gill ran back to mid-wicket to complete a diving catch.
Having bowled out the West Indies for just 248 runs in the first innings, the Indians exercised a huge lead of 270 runs from the first innings. The Indian captain and management decided to impose the follow-on, despite the bowlers having bowled nearly 40 overs since the morning session.
Watch: Shubman Gill races to complete a stunning catch, Mohammed Siraj all-pumped up after an early wicket
Just in the 9th over of the Second West Indian innings, opener Teganarine Chanderpaul was left stunned by Indian skipper Shubman Gill. The Indian bowlers have shown deliberate grit, as they have taken the field for another innings soon after having bowled since the morning session.
Your daily dose of cricket!
Not Jasprit Bumrah, but Ravindra Jadeja was handed the new ball alongside pacer Mohammed Siraj. This time, unlike the first innings, a pacer drew the first blood for India. In his 5th over, Siraj bowled a back-of-the-length cross-seamer that hurried onto Chanderpaul, who cramped for room and lobbed it towards mid-on.
Gill hurried back with his eyes set on the ball and dove with both hands, completing an absolute blinder of a catch. Chanderpaul departed for just 10 runs.

Kuldeep Yadav rested after an impactful 5-fer in the first innings
As the West Indies initiate their second innings after a follow-on during the first innings, India have decided to rest their bowlers who bowled the majority of the overs since morning. They have rested the pacer Jasprit Bumrah and key spinner Kuldeep Yadav, who did the majority of the bowling this morning.
Kuldeep picked a 5-fer in the first innings, with 4 wickets on Day 3. He dismissed the likes of Shai Hope, Tevin Imlach, Justin Greaves and the no 11 Jayden Seales. With the final wicket to his name, he has been given some breathing time, as Jadeja was seen starting with the new ball alongside Mohammed Siraj.
He then continued bowling alongside Washington Sundar in the final session of the game, but neither Kuldeep nor Jasprit Bumrah was called in until the 20th over of the game. Sundar struck for his maiden wicket in the match, dismissing Alick Athanaze in the second innings.
Sai Sudharsan kept out of the field throughout Day 3
Sai Sudharsan, who caught the attention on Day 2 for his freak yet stunning grab off Jadeja’s bowling, has been kept out of the field throughout the entire stretch of Day 3, since the blow seemed to have a major impact on the new Indian no. 3.
The only good news from the centre was that the injury is not grave and he is doing fine. Sudharsan’s 87 in this match could set an opportunity that pushes him for the selection into India’s next red-ball series against South Africa. Devdutt Padikkal took the field as his replacement for the day.
