World no. 4 Taylor Fritz took a third place at the Six Kings Slam in Riyadh. The American faced world no. 5 Novak Djokovic and claimed the opening set 7-6 after 75 minutes before the veteran retired due to ongoing physical issues.
Djokovic denied all nine break points and wasted four set points in the tenth game, with the two rivals pushing each other to the limits in the closing stages of the set.
In the end, Taylor endured and claimed it after a massive battle before Novak decided to end his campaign following one of the most extended sets of his career.

The American denied set points on serve at 4-5 and held after a massive battle to extend the set. The 11th game lasted 16 minutes, and Novak saved six break points. He survived but lost the energy.
The set went into a tie break, and Fritz clinched it 7-4 before the legend decided to end the match.
