On Friday, the Aces gave up a season-high 109 points in a 31-point loss to the 22-4 Minnesota Lynx. Three-time MVP forward A’ja Wilson led the way for Las Vegas with 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three blocks.

Veteran guard Jewell Loyd, who was acquired from the Seattle Storm this offseason, contributed zero points and five fouls in the loss. She shot 0-for-10 from the floor and 0-for-4 from the three-point line.

Loyd is a six-time WNBA All-Star and has been named to an All-WNBA team on three occasions in her 11-year career. She has also started all 25 games for the Aces during the 2025 season.

However, ahead of Sunday’s game against the Dallas Wings, the Aces announced a change. After scoring zero points in the previous game, Las Vegas head coach Becky Hammon replaced Loyd with Kierstan Bell in the starting lineup, effectively demoting her.

“THE FIVE,” the Aces posted.

Bell has spent all four of her WNBA seasons with the Aces, but Sunday will mark just her second career start in 81 appearances. She is averaging 3.7 points, 1.4 rebounds and 0.2 assists per contest in 18 games this season.

Loyd has not come off the bench in a regular-season game since 2019, back when she played for the Storm. She is contributing just 10.4 points per game in 2025, her lowest mark in her career.

Sunday’s game will tip off at 4:00 p.m. ET at the College Park Center in Dallas, Texas.
