Sol Ruca Claims #1 Contender Spot For NXT Women’s Title During February 10 Episode

by

The February 10 episode of NXT included a lot of action and stories. The final match of the night was a big #1 contender match with a lot more on the line.

Sol Ruca and Zaria took on the WrenQCC in a tag team match. With ZaRuca not really getting along in recent memory, the tension was actually high prior to this match.

The woman who got the pinfall in this match to secure the win for her team would get an even bigger prize. She would then go on to face Jacy Jayne for the NXT Women’s Title on February 24 in Atlanta.

Kendal Grey and Wren Sinclair made their way out second, separately, but as a team. However, there were a lot of questions circulating about how cohesive a unit ZaRuca would be.

As this match carried on, Sol Ruca and Zaria did not work well as a team. They stayed on top of their competitors, but the WrenQCC were much more fluid with their tags and intensity.

The match carried on through a commercial break as the two teams continued. Zaria was able to get the upperhand on Kendal Grey, as she used a torture rack in the picture-in-picture. By the time we came back, Grey was able to get out of the submission and nail a backstabber and a big DDT to take Zaria down.

Sol Ruca tagged herself in and then she started going head-to-head against Wren. They went back and forth, and there were some pinfall attempts, but it wasn’t quite enough. Zaria tagged herself in next, and Sol didn’t like that. They argued and then Wren was able to dump Sol on the outside and get the upperhand on Zaria.

Wren tagged Kendal Grey in and then the EVOLVE Women’s Champion took the fight to Zaria to keep her on the mat. The match contined until Sol Ruca was tagged in as she fell into her. Then Sol was able to score the pinfall to win the match.

Zaria was slow to get up after that, and she didn’t seem happy. It seemed that Zaria had won the match after a spear, but then Sol Ruca came in to hit a Sol Snatcher to cap things off and win the match. Zaria only slapped Ruca’s hand when she tried to help her up. We will have to see how much longer this team can put up with this mounting tension.
