Sol Ruca was officially ruled out of NXT Halloween Havoc due to not being medically cleared, casting doubt on her involvement in the event. But in true WWE fashion, things might not be what they seem.
Despite being removed from her scheduled match, Ruca revealed on Instagram that she is indeed in Phoenix, Arizona—the site of tonight’s Premium Live Event. She posted a photo from the city, fueling speculation that her injury may not be as clear-cut as initially believed.
With Ruca pulled from her title defense, Zaria will now step in to face Blake Monroe for the NXT Women’s North American Championship at Halloween Havoc. The change came after Ruca appeared on NXT last week using crutches, leading many to assume she was dealing with a legitimate injury.
However, Dave Meltzer weighed in during Wrestling Observer Live, suggesting that the entire angle felt more scripted than real. He explained that while the injury hasn’t been confirmed or denied behind the scenes, the way it was presented raised red flags.
“It felt way too storyline… I have not had anyone confirm the injury to me, but I’ve had nobody not confirm it. So, when that happens—it’s like with Rollins—it could be legit, but they’re doing it like a storyline.”
Whether Ruca’s presence in Phoenix is part of a larger angle or simply coincidence, the door is still open for a surprise appearance. WWE is known for playing mind games with its audience, and this could be another example of a swerve in progress.
