South Africa Playing 11 vs Australia- 1st ODI, South Africa Tour of Australia 2025:
Openers: Temba Bavuma (c), Aiden Markram
South Africa would like to start the ODI series against Australia with a win after a close loss in the final game of the recently concluded T20I series against the same opposition.
The visitors will be boosted by the return of their ODI captain, Temba Bavuma, who wasn’t a part of the T20I squad.

The majority of the South African squad remains the same, which took the field in the three T20Is against Australia.
The team management would want the batters to put on a strong show with the bat and would wish for the top three batters to take more responsibility than they took in T20Is.
South Africa is also expected to go with two fast bowling all-rounders in the form of Corbin Bosch and Wiaan Mulder, which will give the team depth in batting.
The Temba Bavuma-led side has a good mix of youth and experience with the likes of Devald Brewis and Tristan Stubbs batting at number five and six or interchangeably depending on the situation.
Temba Bavuma and Aiden Markram, captains of the ODI and T20I teams, respectively, are expected to open the innings with wicketkeeper batter Ryan Rickelton batting at number three.
The duo would want to get the team off to a good start against an inexperienced Australian bowling attack and put pressure on the home team in the first ten overs.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Ryan Rickelton (wk), Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Tristan Stubbs, Dewald Brevis, Wiaan Mulder, Corbin Bosch
The openers will be followed by a young and in-form trio of Ryan Rickelton, Tristan Stubbs, and Dewald Brevis, with Lhuan-dre Pretorius batting potentially at number four in the batting order.
The likes of Brevis and Stubbs were in good form in the T20I series, with Brevis scoring a record-breaking ton in the second game, which guided the team to a comprehensive win.
Pretorius, on the other hand, has shown what he is capable of with the bat in his debut series and would want to replicate the same performance in the opening match of the ODI series.
Corbin Bosch and Wiaan Mulder will fulfill the role of finishers while batting at numbers six and seven.
Bowlers: Kagiso Rabada, Keshav Maharaj, Lungi Ngidi
The visitors are expected to go into the upcoming match with the bowling combination of four fast bowlers and one specialist spinner, including two fast-bowling all-rounders.
Kagiso Rabada will most probably take the new ball from one end, and it would be interesting to see who will partner him.
The Proteas have a couple of options like Corbin Bosch and Lungi Ngidi, both of whom can take the new ball from the other end, with Wiaan Mulder controlling things in the middle overs.
As far as the team’s spin bowling department is concerned, it will be taken care of by Keshav Maharaj.
