South Africa Playing 11 vs Australia- 3rd ODI, South Africa Tour of Australia 2025:

Openers: Ryan Rickelton (wk), Aiden Markram

South Africa would want to keep their winning momentum going and clinch the third and final ODI, having won the first two matches of the ongoing series against Australia.

A win in the first two matches has helped South Africa take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series, which is also their fifth consecutive series win against Australia in ODI format since 2016.

The Temba Bavuma-led side would eye a clean sweep against the home side, which is a rarity considering how dominant Australia has been in their own backyard.

Yes, the Mitchell Marsh-led side is without the services of Mitchell Starc and regular ODI captain Pat Cummins, two of Australia’s most experienced fast bowlers, but that doesn’t take anything away from the fact that the hosts have been outplayed.

South Africa would once again bank on their batters to put on a strong performance and guide the team to a challenging total.

The onus will be on the openers to get the team off to a good start, and the pair of Aiden Markram and Ryan Rickelton will look to do exactly that.

Both batters would hope for a solid outing individually as well, to build confidence for the matches to come

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Temba Bavuma (c), Matthew Breetzke, Tristan Stubbs, Dewald Brevis, Wiaan Mulder

The openers will be followed by a middle order that has capitalized on the platform laid by the top three batters and would hope to replicate the same performance in the final game of the tour.

The captain and coach would be happy with the way young batters like Matthew Breetzke and Tristan Stubbs have approached innings in ODI cricket and would want them to keep up the good work.

Having said that, the management would be somewhat concerned about the form of Dewald Brevis as the attacking batter hasn’t been able to get going so far in ODI cricket and would back him to score big in the upcoming match.

One of the advantages that the visitors have over Australia is the depth in the batting lineup, which stretches till number nine and can make a difference of 10-15, which is quite significant in any form of cricket.

Bowlers: Keshav Maharaj, Prenelan Subrayen, Lungi Ngidi, Nandre Burger

Coach Shukri Conrad would be satisfied with the way the bowlers have performed in the two matches and would want them to keep going for one last time in the series.

The team’s bowling was led by two different personnel in each of the two matches, with Keshav Maharaj picking up a five-wicket haul in the first outing, whereas it was Lungi Ngidi who bowled South Africa to victory in the second match.

The two bowlers were supported by others in both matches, and it would be interesting to see if a third bowler puts his hand up and takes the responsibility of picking wickets in the upcoming match.

The Proteas are expected to go in the third match with the same bowling combination that did the job for the team in the first two matches.
