South Carolina 2027 5-star cornerback has Notre Dame on his top list
Notre Dame football’s recruiting has seen a major spike since Marcus Freeman took over the program, as he’s put together arguably the best class of his tenure in 2026.

The Irish staff will try and top its effort for this coming cycle with the 2027 class, as it already has four commits with defensive lineman Richie Flanigan the latest to join the fold. Notre Dame is battling many schools for some top prospects, and on Tuesday it learned that 2027 South Carolina cornerback Joshua Dobson has included the Irish in his top-12 schools.
It’s a who’s who of the top programs in college football, as the nations No. 5 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings also has teams like Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, Texas A&M and Oklahoma still on his cut down list.
Dobson was recently on campus, as he was in town as the Irish hosted the Aggies. He’s also made trips to see the Tigers, Sooners, and Tennessee this fall, as others could be added to his upcoming schedule. Notre Dame is firmly in the mix for his commitment, and it’s clear that he’s high on them as well.
