South Carolina women’s basketball is predicted to win the conference championship in a poll of SEC and national media members released on Oct. 13.
The Gamecocks won the last three SEC regular-season titles, and split the title last season with Texas. They went on to beat the Longhorns for the SEC Tournament championship in March.

Texas star Madison Booker was voted the SEC Preseason Player of the Year but South Carolina guard Ta’Niya Latson received votes according to the SEC. Four other players did as well.
Sophomore forward Joyce Edwards, who led South Carolina in scoring with 12.7 points per game last year, was named All-SEC first team and Latson was named All-SEC second team. Latson transferred to Dawn Staley’s program in April after three years at Florida State. She led the nation in scoring with 25.2 points in 2024-25.
