South Carolina has signed French forward Alicia Tournebize, they announced on Monday.
Tournebize is a 6-4 forward from Vichy, France. She averaged 12.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in the 2025 U18 EuroBasket Tournament. In 2024, she averaged 3.3 points and 1.8 rebounds in the U17 World Cup.

She will join the Gamecocks and be eligible to play immediately.
Tournebize visited South Carolina in November. She attended the football game against Coastal Carolina and the womenβs basketball game against Queens. Prior to visiting South Carolina, Tournebize visited Kentucky and attended the Wildcatsβ game against Purdue.
Tournebize was deciding between South Carolina, Kentucky, and staying in Europe to play professionally. She appeared in eight games for Tango Bourges Basket, averaging 2.4 points and 1.9 rebounds in 7.6 minutes. Tournebize shot 6-17 and made her only three-point attempt. Despite being just 18, she was playing with and against grown women, many with WNBA experience.
Tournebize went viral over the summer when she had a two-handed dunk in the U18 EuroBasket Tournament. It was at least her third career dunk, and she is the first French woman to ever dunk in a game.

Tournebize has Gamecock ties. Her mother, Isabelle Fijalkowski, played two seasons (1997-98) in the WNBA for the Cleveland Rockers. South Carolina associate head coach Lisa Boyer was an assistant for the Rockers for the 1998 season.
Tournebize will be the second French player in Gamecock history, although the first actually born in France. Wilka Montout, who played for South Carolina for two seasons from 2012-2014, was born in Cayenne, French Guinana. She later went to school in Nice, France, and Oklahoma before transferring to South Carolina.
In the November signing period, South Carolina signed two players for the 2026 class: 6-2 forward Kaeli Wynn and 6-4 post Kelsi Andrews. Andrews is the 14th-ranked player, and Wynn is the 17th-ranked player in the 2026 class. Because she is an international player, Tournebize is not ranked by any of the recruiting services. South Carolina is also a finalist for guard Jerzy Robinson.
