South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley has led the Gamecocks to nine overall SEC regular-season championships. She has also led the program to four regular-season titles in a row. On Tuesday, the Southeastern Conference revealed the Gamecocks’ road to a 10th overall and 5th consecutive crown.
The 16-game conference schedule begins on the first day of the new year. It will conclude on the first day of March before the SEC Tournament begins on Wednesday, March 1st. Along the way, South Carolina will play Alabama twice, once at home and then once on the road in Tuscaloosa. However, the Gamecocks could face off against the Texas Longhorns twice in the 2025-2026 season, too. The first meeting, though, would come at the Players Era Women’s Championship tournament in Las Vegas. Despite both teams being in the SEC, the matchup would be a non-conference affair.
In addition to South Carolina’s four regular-season conference titles in a row, the Gamecocks have won five of six and nine of 12 SEC titles. USC hasn’t finished lower than 2nd since 2012-2013.
The SEC schedule joins out-of-conference contests against the Clemson Tigers, Southern Cal Trojans, Louisville Cardinals, South Florida Bulls, North Florida Ospreys, Providence Friars, Duke Blue Devils, and the potential meeting against Texas or the UCLA Bruins in Vegas. The Gamecocks will also take on the North Carolina Tar Heels in a preseason exhibition.
