South Carolina women’s basketball dropped one spot in the Associated Press poll after suffering its first SEC loss of the season.
The now No. 3 Gamecocks (20-2, 6-1 SEC) lost 94-82 to then No. 16 Oklahoma in overtime on Jan. 22 but recovered with a massive 103-74 win over No. 5 Vanderbilt on Jan. 25.

UCLA replaced South Carolina at the No. 2 spot, with UConn still at No. 1. With the win over Vanderbilt, UConn is the only undefeated team left in Division I women’s basketball.
Oklahoma went from No. 16 to No. 10 after beating the Gamecocks. The USA TODAY coaches poll will be released on Jan. 27.
South Carolina has two away games next, starting with Auburn on Jan. 29 (9 p.m. ET, SEC Network) then Texas A&M on Feb. 2 (8 p.m. ET, ESPN2).
The Gamecocks won’t play in Columbia again until Feb. 5 against Mississippi State.
