Los Angeles Sparks center Cameron Brink confirmed she will make her season debut Tuesday night against the Las Vegas Aces, marking her first WNBA game action since suffering a torn ACL more than a year ago.
After testing her knee through shootarounds and workouts in recent days, Brink gave a candid answer when asked if she’d suit up on Tuesday.
“I don’t know if I can say that, but yeah. Yeah,” Brink told Sparks reporter John W. Davis with a smile.
Cameron Brink Reflects on Recovery
The No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft has spent the last 13 months rehabbing from a devastating knee injury that cut short her rookie season after just 15 games. Brink averaged 7.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.3 blocks per game — the latter ranking third in the league — before going down.
Now officially cleared, Brink is approaching her return with a mix of excitement and humility.
“It means the world,” Brink said. “I’m just very excited, very humbled by this experience. You know, it’s no easy thing to come back from, so just—just really excited.”
Brink previously detailed her journey on her podcast Straight to Cam, urging other athletes recovering from major injuries to give themselves grace during the toughest stretches.
“Anyone going through an injury now that’s—ACL, Achilles, anything—just know that I feel like towards the end give yourself more grace,” Brink said. “That’s what I’m trying to tell myself right now.”

Defense First as Brink Rejoins New-Look Sparks
While Brink tempered expectations for her offensive rhythm, she noted that her defense will likely be the first part of her game to return to form.
“I feel like my defense has kind of always been something I’ve leaned on,” Brink said. “So probably—I would say defense. But yeah, just giving myself patience on offense, knowing that it’ll come eventually.”
Brink also praised new assistant coach Latricia Trammell, who joined the sideline during her recovery.
“LT’s great. I’ve always respected her, so I think her coming in and helping us means the world,” Brink said. “She’s just a great energy—so knowledgeable. She’s a great teacher, so I think we’ve improved a lot since she’s been here.”
The Sparks (11–15) enter Tuesday’s nationally televised matchup riding a five-game winning streak and looking to sustain momentum. Brink’s return could give Los Angeles a true defensive anchor as it chases a playoff spot in the second half of the season.
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CT from College Park Center in Arlington.
