I’ll provide a full breakdown of the entire schedule once we get closer to the season, but for those that are curious, Stanford’s ACC schedule is as follows (home in bold; road italics; all tipoff times TBA):
Sunday, December 14th vs. Cal
Thursday, January 1st at NC State
Sunday, January 4th at North Carolina
Thursday, January 8th vs. Wake Forest
Sunday, January 11th vs. Duke
Thursday, January 15th at Boston College
Sunday, January 18th at Syracuse
Sunday, January 25th at Cal
Thursday, January 29th vs. Louisville
Sunday, February 1st vs. Notre Dame
Thursday, February 5th at Pittsburgh
Sunday, February 8th at Georgia Tech
Thursday, February 12th vs. Virginia Tech
Sunday, February 15th vs. Virginia
Thursday, February 19th at Miami
Sunday, February 22nd at Florida State
Thursday, February 26th vs. SMU
Sunday, March 1st vs. Clemson
Just to provide some quick thoughts on the schedule, getting Cal at home in December to open up ACC play will be fun. Stanford got swept by Cal last year, so they’ll be eager to get some payback.
I think starting the new year with a road trip is actually nice as they get to knock out one East coast trip before the winter quarter begins. That will feel good and then hey, four East Coast trips really isn’t that bad though I’m a little surprised they didn’t try to at least have one two-week trip just to ease the travel burdens a bit.
Going back to Cal, specifically the home game, that will be the second of three straight games at home that will feature Tennessee (Wednesday, December 3rd) and Washington (Friday, December 19th). That should be a fun little stretch of games and should provide the ticket office with a chance to put a nice three-game holiday plan together for families looking to get some holiday hoops action in.
Overall, it should be an interesting year two of ACC play (and the Kate Paye era) for Stanford. They’re bringing in a loaded freshman class and will look to get back to the NCAA tournament after missing it last year. It’ll be fun to see how quickly they start to gel.
