Stefanos Tsitsipas won’t be making a tennis homecoming next week.

Tsitsipas has officially withdrawn from next week’s Athens Open effectively ending his 2025 season.

There will still be a Tsitsipas presence in the draw: Brother Pavlos Tsitsipas has a wild card into qualifying and is scheduled to play Saturday against Shintaro Mochizuki.

Grand Slam king is top seed in Athens. Lorenzo Musetti, bidding to secure the final spot in the ATP Finals, is seeded second. Italian Luciano Darderi is seeded third and American Brandon Nakashima is the fourth seed. Stan Wawrinka has received a wild card into the main draw.

Here’s a look at the complete Athens draw.

The 27-year-old Tsitsipas lost to Daniel Altmaier in a punishing five-setter in the US Open second round.

After Flushing Meadows, Tsitsipas represented Greece in Davis Cup play defeating Thiago Seyboth Wild before losing to Joao Fonseca 4-6, 6-3, 5-7.

Tsitsipas, who failed to reach a Grand Slam third round for the first time this season, underwent hernia surgery in Greece in September and though he played the Six Kings Slam he’s also been bothered by a back issue.
