World no. 27 Stefanos Tsitsipas underwent surgery in Athens to resolve his ongoing low back problems. Thus, the former Major runner-up marked a new chapter in what has been a difficult 2025 season.
The procedure was declared successful, and the medical team is optimistic about Stefanos' recovery. However, the exact timeline for his return remains uncertain.
The Greek already withdrew from the ATP 500 event in Beijing. We will not see him compete at the Shanghai Masters either, leaving his participation at the upcoming Six Kings Slam in Riyadh in doubt.

Tsitsipas entered the six-player field at the Six Kings Slam after replacing Jack Draper. World no. 27 hopes to recover in time and fight for a mind-blowing prize money.
Alongside that, Stefanos is looking for a springboard for a much-needed turnaround following a couple of years of constant back issues. This year has been far from smooth for a multiple Monte Carlo Masters winner.
Tsitsipas is 22-18 in 2025, with no notable runs and last back-to-back wins in Barcelona in April! The Greek still stands in the top-30, although that could change after the Asian swing.

The surgery, however, offers a chance for a reset and a fresh start. If his recovery goes as planned, Stefanos could rejoin the world's top names in Riyadh in a month and embrace a strong closure to the season.
After a short stint with Goran Ivanisevic this summer that ended terribly, Tsitsipas is back with his father, recreating a family-bond relationship and overcoming difficulties.
The former Major finalist admitted he made mistakes in the past. He hopes to fully recover and start winning matches again with his father by his side, as they have been doing for years.
