VANCOUVER – Stephanie Luciano met the media Saturday after her win over Ravena Oliveira at UFC Fight Night 262.

Luciano (7-2-1 MMA, 2-1 UFC) picked up the first submission win of her career when she tapped Oliveira (7-3-1 MMA, 0-2 UFC) with a rear-naked choke in the third round on the prelims at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.

Now the 25-year-old Brazilian says she wants to ratchet up her activity level so she can start making waves in the UFC’s women’s strawweight division. It’s been more than two years since her DWCS appearance, but she’s had just three UFC fights so far.

“I’m enjoying my time (in the UFC),” Luciano told MMA Junkie at her post-fight news conference. “First fight went great, second fight was great, this fight was great, so I’m very happy – and let’s see (if I can fight) maybe a ranked opponent next.

“… I want to fight in about four months. I’ve been asking for fights. It’s been hard to get fights. I’ve been fighting about every seven months. Mainly, I want to stay more active. I want to be able to fight more next year. I don’t have any names in mind – just someone in the rankings.”
