Suga free! Sean O’Malley scrubbed from UFC 324 poster update, fans decry ‘horrible’ omission

by

Former UFC bantamweight champion, Sean O’Malley, is good enough to co-headline the upcoming UFC 324 event on Jan. 24 in Las Vegas — but not good enough to land on the UFC 324 poster update, which removed the former co-main event between Kayla Harrison and Amanda Nunes after Harrison withdrew due to injury.

Have a look at the before and after below:

O’Malley fights No. 5-ranked Yadong Song in a three-round non-title fight.

Fans on social media blasted the promotion’s “weird” decision to omit O’Malley from the official poster update. “Suga” is coming off four straight main events and four consecutive title fights, so he’s certainly earned a piece of real estate on the new UFC 324 poster.

There’s also an argument that it doesn’t matter since posters are no longer relevant in the digital age.

UFC 324 will be headlined by the interim lightweight title fight pitting Justin Gaethje against Paddy Pimblett. Elsewhere on the Paramount+ fight card (see it here), heavyweight hurters Derrick Lewis and Waldo Cortes-Acosta throw heavy leather at 265 pounds.
